Altos del Maria
Friday, July 26th: By morning, the acute phase of the illness was over for me, but I did not feel up to joining the group for the full day outing. I stayed at the lodge as did David, Bob, and Alice, while the group headed off to Altos del Maria. Today cost me 3 lifers: Snowcap, White-tailed Emerald, and Brown-billed Scythebill, as well as some trip birds. The staff brought us chicken soup for lunch, which I also had for dinner.
I ended up with only 18 species for the day, leaving my trip total at 298. I'm still at 53 lifers for the trip.
